Teachers
Never be afraid to teach students the
values of sex education. While schools
cannot teach about sexuality in a way that
includes family beliefs, they can teach the basics of physical sex through responsible design. This will give teens a basic foundation to bring home to parents or other sources of information. The information they share from the classroom should be complete, accurate, and expansive. There are currently two forms of Sex Education, depending on what your state or local school district mandates, and teens will either learn the Comprehensive Sexuality Education or the Abstinence-Only-Until-Marriage Program. Both come from very different strains of thought, and are determined by the school, not the teacher. Regardless of the program, every topic should be covered (Relationships, Health, STDs, Law) without a biased opinion. Many educators feel uncomfortable when taking on the topic of sex, but with the proper guidelines and information it can be done with ease.
