• Provide basic, accurate information about the risks of unprotected sexual intercourse and how to avoid unprotected intercourse
• Include activities that address peer pressure and cultural pressure
• Practice decision making, communication, negotiation, and refusal skills to help avoid unwanted situations
• Promote a flexible learning environment by recognizing the variety of learning styles among students and develop teaching strategies which compliment these styles
• Encourage students to develop attitudes, knowledge and skills for recognizing and addressing stereotypes, bias, unfairness and discrimination.
• The creation of a statement of principles serves as a foundation for sexual health education. It provides everyone with a common vision of the program’s purpose, objectives, beliefs and approach.
• The teachers may want to use stories from the students; experiences and incorporate them into role-plays or discussions.
